We have only known Michael for a couple of years but I’m so glad that we had this time. He always greeted me with a warm hug closely followed by a large whisky! A truly great person to be around, we will miss you and never forget you.

We were so sad to hear that Michael is gone. Although we only got to know him recently, he just epitomised “lust for life” to us - almost a force of nature. A warm, friendly, funny bundle of energy, who we know will be sadly missed by so many people. Our hearts go out to Jo and the family.

It's hard to find the right words to honor you, mate. You were truly one of a kind, and it's nearly impossible to capture just how awesome you were. You had this infectious energy, always full of life and facinatinh stories from your time serving your country. You lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with a sense of adventure that was truly inspiring. If I could live my life with even a fraction of the boldness and spirit you did, I'd consider myself lucky. Rest in peace, Michael.

We had the pleasure of spending a wonderful weekend full of love and laughter with Michael and Jo at our mutual friends wedding and will always treasure those memories xxx

I met Michael and Jo just a few years ago but felt like a friendship I'd had for many more years. Michael and I would always put the world to rights over a beverage. He would get on his soap box with me and poor Jo could barely get a work in (lol). I always felt heard around Michael and unjudged and that was how he was. He didn't suffer fools but if he liked you, he gave you a lot of respect. Rest in peace Michael, you will be greatly missed.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
